About Us

Welcome to the Lake Pleasant Public Library!

Our mission is to provide a full spectrum of library services for all community members by offering programs that enrich lives, provide digital information access, and promote reading and life-long learning.

We are a part of the Southern Adirondack Library System (SALS), a consortium of 34 libraries servicing Saratoga, Warren, Washington, and Hamilton Counties. This partnership enables our library to offer services such as a consolidated online catalog, and interlibrary loans.

Chartered in 2007 by the State of New York, the library is governed by a board of trustees and follows by-laws that outline its policies and procedures.

The library is supported financially by the Town of Lake Pleasant, The Friends of the Lake Pleasant Public Library, and private donations.

Our library serves the Towns of Lake Pleasant, Arietta, Morehouse, Wells, and the Village of Speculator. We’re proud to play a vital role in extending knowledge and information through books, events, and programming. By engaging people in conversation, we encourage them to be active in our communities. Because our library is located in the Adirondacks, unreliable residential internet service is a given. Our library provides free wifi for community members and visitors 24/7, and makes access to technology accessible for everyone.

We look forward to welcoming you to our library, and our community!
